Shopify Integration

Shopify_logoNote: We are making this option unavailable to new customers in February, 2022. The volume of usage and issues of inventory and item syncing introduced a 5% error rate, which we are not able to address fully.

Shopify is now integrated with RunSignUp for races. This means races can sell items from their Shopify stores directly in their race registration path.

The initial release automatically creates Add-Ons in RunSignUp based on items in your Shopify store. The store item name, description, image, variants and inventory are automatically imported. In a release coming in the next 2 weeks, we will also enable an inventory count in Shopify that automatically adjusts as items are purchased within RunSignUp.

To set this up for your race(s), first connect and authorize your RunSignUp account to communicate with your Shopify account. This is done from the Shopify Integration menu option in your Race Dashboard:

You can then connect to a specific Shopify Store:

You can also connect to multiple Shopify stores:

Once the store is linked, you can then see it as an option when creating Add-Ons in the Advanced section. Do NOT fill anything out when creating a new Add-On as the Shopify integration will do that for you. Pick the store and the item:

And things get filled in automatically:

Addons can pull information from Shopify, including

  • Title
  • Description
  • Price (unless overridden by Variants)
  • Strikethrough price
  • Inventory (unless overridden by Variants)
  • Variants/Options
    • Title
    • Inventory Quantity
    • Price

This ensures the items are the same. In the next week or two, we will also release the ability to decrement inventory count in Shopify as orders are placed in your race. This will also include the ability to hide items that are getting low on inventory or are out of stock.
