Jiro Dreams of Sushi

We went to see Jiro Dreams of Sushi this past weekend.  It is a great documentary movie about Jiro Ono:

“JIRO DREAMS OF SUSHI is the story of 85 year-old Jiro Ono, considered by many to be the world’s greatest sushi chef. He is the proprietor of Sukiyabashi Jiro, a 10-seat, sushi-only restaurant inauspiciously located in a Tokyo subway station. Despite its humble appearances, it is the first restaurant of its kind to be awarded a prestigious 3 star Michelin review.”

While sitting in the movie theatre, I kept thinking about RunSignUp.  How our ambitions were similar to Jiro’s.  Focus on one thing and do it really well.  Make improvements each and every day.  The focus is on doing the right thing – not the money.

It also struck me that many runners have a similar set of traits.  Going out each day rain, shine or snow.  Getting just a bit better.  RUnning a race and getting step closer to the goal with each step.

I turned 55 this past weekend and hope to have the energy for RunSignUp when I am 85 like Jiro!
