We have released a CSV transformation tool to assist with data importing. It is one of our utilities we make public along with a CSV Merge and an Elfscore converter available at RunSignUp.com/Utilities.
The new merge utility reads the header of each column and displays them in order as shown below. The transformation tool has the ability to:
- Remove columns
- Rename the column
- Reorder columns (simply drag them by the little arrows on the right)
- Merge with a previous column and include a separator like a space or comma
- Strip times from dates
- Search and replace text
- Exclude row based on text matches
Simply upload a CSV and the above editor appears. You can export the new CSV file.
You can also save the configuration in JSON. This useful if you have a bunch of spreadsheets that have the same format and need the same transformation. You will load this on the first page of the configuration.
This is powerful for races looking at importing past race participant information from other registration systems into RunSignUp.
