Due to changes in the APIs from Instagram, we will be removing the “Instagram User Widget” and “Instagram Hashtag Widget” from our custom content pages.
What’s Happening:
- Their replacement APIs are not yet available and will remain much more limited once released.
- As a result, we will be removing the “Instagram User Widget” and “Instagram Hashtag Widget” from our custom content pages.
This change by Instagram (owned by Facebook) is likely a result of the Cambridge Analytica revelations.
Note: We are not going to remove the content section completely, only the configuration in Embed Video (e.g. YouTube, LiveStream, etc.) or Widget. The Section Heading and Content pieces will remain untouched.

What Races and Clubs Can Do:
Races can still link to their Instagram in the social media bar (On the race dashboard: Promotion -> Instagram). However, there is not a similar option for club and partner websites.
The impacted races, clubs, and partner websites should review their content sections and remove sections/pages if applicable.
We expect to make these changes by EOD on 4/10/18.
