Referrals

As any race director knows, the key to increasing your participation is by encouraging people to refer their friends. The other key is having other organizations like the local running store, or running club or Cross Fit Gym list you on their website or email blasts.

Now you can make a game of it and track who is referring the most participants! Some races even plan on using this feature to give out awards to the top Referrers! The screen shot on the right is a widget that you can put on your website to encourage people by seeing who the top referrers are – and this can be done in either $ or number of participants.

As a Race Director, we give you the power to send out invites to key partners like the local running store with a unique URL and code that RunSignUp will understand and be able to track registrations that result from that link.

We also automatically generate a URL for everyone who signs up for your race and include that in their confirmation email so they can invite friends easily. This is also added to the Facebook and Twitter Share pop=-ups at the end of registration so you will even be able to track Facebook shares that wind up in registrations!

This is super-easy to setup. Just go to the Social Tab for your race and then the Referral Tracking sub-tab to enable.  This will go live on Monday, July 15.  It is currently on the Test server – so feel free to play around with it.

(Note to Partners and Race who use the widget code to do sign up on your website, there is a new option for that, or simply enter raceRefCode=XXXXXXXX or partnerRefCode=XXXXXXXX into the widget code on your site)
