Enhanced Virtual Results Updates: Phase 1

As more and more events are transitioning their Races over to Virtual Races we are dedicating more of our time on improving the Virtual Race experience for participants, and the Virtual Race setup and configuration for race directors. Over the next few weeks you’ll see some consistent improvements made to both of these areas.

We will be hosting a quick webinar tomorrow, Friday 3/20/20 at 2:00pm ET, to review this update. Don’t worry: if you miss it, we’ll also post the content here, as well as covering it in future webinars.

Phase 1: Participant facing improvements for results submission
In keeping with our User Experience Manifesto our first step in this development process was to identify how we can make an immediate impact to the greatest amount of users with the least amount of development time.

For our Enhanced Virtual Race experience we found that it was difficult for participants to find where they can submit their Virtual Results online, so we have updated a few existing screens with banners that guide the user to submit their Virtual Results.

Submitting results through the User Profile
On the User Profile we have a few handy links in the Upcoming Registrations area which allow you to access and manage your upcoming registrations. We have added a quick link to submit your Virtual Results for any upcoming events that have Enhanced Virtual Results setup:

Registration Management Page
We have also added a banner and button to the Registration Management screen which links over to the same place:

Submitting results on the Results Page
The last place that we’ve added a link to submit Virtual results to is the Results page itself:

Results Submission Form
All three of these pages navigate the user to the form to submit their completed Virtual Race time, which will publish their results immediately to RunSignup.

Stay tuned for more updates coming to Enhanced Virtual Races!
Our next project is an overhaul of the Dashboard setup page for enabling and configuring Enhanced Virtual Races to make it faster to setup and easier to understand.
