Welcome, Nancy Caviness!

It’s a brand-new year, and we are continuing to grow here at GiveSignup | RunSignup! We are excited to announce our newest team member, Nancy Caviness. Nancy is joining the GiveSignup | RunSignup team as a Senior Account Manager.

To welcome Nancy to our team and to give her the opportunity to tell her story, we spent time learning more about Nancy both personally and professionally. Read on to get to know Nancy Caviness.

Please tell us a little more about your background.

Since residing on the Outer Banks, I co-owned and operated a bed and breakfast, and began an independent consulting business focused on social media management and marketing — all while serving my community as an elected official, volunteer firefighter, and race director! Before relocating to North Carolina from Ithaca, New York, my career was shared between academia and the nonprofit sector. I’m an alum of UConn (Storrs), Old Dominion University, and UNC’s Gillings School of Global Public Health. Somewhere in there, I managed to become a certified running coach, ran 16 marathons, paced a few halfs, and pulled out a 20-year streak at the Utica Boilermaker!

What are you most looking forward to in joining the GiveSignup | RunSignup team?

As I have spent much of my professional life focused on community wellbeing, I am thrilled to take on a position that — at its core — lives at the intersection of successful event management and the tremendous impact this has on people’s lives. I am eager to work with a team of people who share a common purpose and appreciate the value of collaboration!

Tell us about your hobbies and interests, and what you like to do for fun outside of work.

When I’m not running or walking, I truly enjoy classic rock, movies, jigsaws, crossword puzzles, and a bit of stargazing if I can stay awake!

What is a fun fact about yourself?

If lost, you’ll probably find me at Disney.

We are excited to have Nancy join our team, and look forward to her many contributions!
