Moorestown, NJ – RunSignUp announced that they will be releasing their First Annual Registration Trends Report at the Running USA Conference kicking off in Orlando on 2/26/17. The report, mined from RunSignUp registration and result data from 2015 and 2016, pinpoints benchmarks and trends that the industry can learn from.
The report seeks to fill a gap in industry reporting by exploring trends beyond demographics and including all endurance event registrants – not just running race finishers. With the increasing number of next generation events that extend beyond running and focus on experience over competition, it is important to look at participants in untimed events to create a real picture of the industry.
The report will examine real world questions, such as the effectiveness of various marketing promotions or pricing strategies, and suggest solutions to help races remain relevant in a competitive market. Founder Bob Bickel said, “We built this report because we believe that collated data can help races to understand how to improve their events. For example, sharing that 23% of signups occur 3 days before a price increase or registration closing is not simply a number – it is a recommendation to include price increases and strong calls to action to drive registration.”
All attendees at the Running USA Conference will find highlights from the report in their goody bags; the full report will be released online for race directors everywhere to use as a resource. This first iteration of the Registration Trends Report includes only data from the 31,000+ events on RunSignUp; future goals include aggregating similar data from multiple registration companies to continue to improve the understanding of industry trends.
