The reason Run Toledo is hosting this summit and why we feel it is important to help support these types of efforts is because being a race director can be complicated, but it truly doesn’t have to be.  There are proven tools and processes that can be shared with Race Directors that industry providers, like Run Toledo’s Certified Race Directors and Timers, can share and help race directors be more successful and grow their events.

Run Toledo is bringing together many of their trusted partners, including RunSignup, to help share their best practices. In addition, their own team of race directors has more than two decades of experience managing large and small events. With certifications from the Road Runners Club of America and USA Triathlon, they practice the latest processes and safety procedures that can help grow race events.

Race directors will also have access to partners in the industry that address key components of the producing a race, including a print shop, awards company, porta johns, sign company, timing company, and t-shirt company. Attendees will receive Run Toledo’s Race Director Manual, that includes sample budgets, safety plans ,and more to help produce a safe, successful, and growing event.

Run Toledo’s affiliation with Dave’s Running shop means they support close to 250 small races that have under 1,000 participants. Dave’s Running provides sponsorship activities to these events to help support their business that includes consulting services from Run Toledo. These consulting services focus on providing guidance around producing a safe event and offering a level of expertise to the running community.  This is an impressive story of a local running community coming together to support one another and the industry.

So, if you are a race director in the Toledo area or one of the surrounding areas, make sure to take advantage of this opportunity to receive industry education, connect with others in the industry, and get the latest information on ways you can improve your event. For $5, you can’t beat the price. Register here.

Special thanks to Run Toledo and Dave’s Running for taking the initiative and supporting the local running community!
