Nonprofit Ticket CheckIn App

Checking in your nonprofit event’s attendees is quick and easy with GiveSignup’s new Ticket CheckIn App. The Ticket CheckIn App is now available for iOS and Android phones and tablets.

The Ticket CheckIn App is built on the same architecture as RunSignup’s CheckIn App and customized for ticketed events. You can quickly scan QR Codes or search by ticket holder name/ticket ID to check in your attendees in seconds.

Enable the CheckIn App

To enable the ticket check in app, navigate to Event >> CheckIn on your Ticket Event Dashboard. You will set up a password that will be entered into the app to access your attendee data for security purposes.

When you open the GiveSignup Ticket CheckIn App on your device, search for and then select your ticket event.

You will be required to enter the password that you entered in the Ticket Event Dashboard to load your event’s data.

How to CheckIn Attendees

In the CheckIn App, there are two groupings of your event’s tickets: All Purchases, which are Ticket Purchases, and All Tickets, which are Individual Tickets. Selecting a ticket purchase from All Purchases will allow you to check in all or some ticket holders in that transaction. Individual tickets in the CheckIn App are useful for events that collect each ticket holder’s individual information.

The fastest and simplest way to check in your attendees is to scan QR Codes. Each confirmation email contains a unique ticket purchase QR Code; if individual information for each ticket holder is collected, confirmation emails sent to each email address will contain a unique individual ticket QR Code.

Select the camera icon in the upper-right corner to scan QR Codes. This will automatically pull up the Ticket Purchase or Individual Ticket when you scan a QR Code.

In the example below, the ticket event is only collecting the personal information of the ticket purchaser, so individual tickets all show under the ticket purchaser’s name. You can select the green CheckIn All button to automatically check in all tickets in the purchase. You can also check in individual tickets if not all ticket holders in the purchase arrive at the same time. You’ll be able to pull up the same ticket purchase (by QR code or name/ID search) to check in the remaining tickets at a later time.

You can use the search bar to pull up a ticket purchase or individual ticket by purchaser name or ticket purchase ID (this can be found in the attendee’s confirmation email, as well as under Reports >> Ticket Purchases and Reports >> Individual Tickets).

Event Menu

Right now, the Event Menu only has two settings:

  • Queued Edits: CheckIns that have not yet synced with the cloud
  • Back to Events: Go back to the full list of ticketed events

The Future

Future iterations of the Ticket CheckIn app will include the ability to un-CheckIn attendees, CheckIns by Ticket Group/Level, and store items, as well as CheckIn reports in the Ticket Event Dashboard.
