RunSignUp and Strava Link Race Day to the Training Journey

strava_logo_orangeRunSignUp, the leading race management platform, is excited to announce that Strava, the social network for athletes, is the first National Sponsor in a new expansion of RunSignUp’s Sponsor platform. RunSignUp and Strava are built by athletes for athletes. Together, they are providing a way for the 15,000+ races using RunSignUp to expand from just a race day focus to the full race lifecycle from promotion to race day to results – making races more social and fun.

Bob Bickel, Founder and CEO of RunSignUp, looks forward to expanding the National Sponsor program. “Strava is the perfect partner for our first National Sponsor. Not only can races generate sponsor revenue by directing new users to Strava, they also get the benefit of enabling a social training experience. Strava’s large running community also can introduce new runners to races, especially when they create a Strava Club for their race.”

Andy Younger, the race director for The Crim, is excited about this program. “We have an extensive training program as part of our community outreach, with roughly 2,000 people participating across 100 different community groups. We will use Strava and RunSignUp to deepen our connection with our participants and community. Our goal is to extend the one-day race event to a more meaningful journey of health and accomplishment.”

“We are excited to work with the RunSignUp community to extend the race experience beyond the day of the event itself,” says Strava’s VP of Business Development and Strategy, David Lorsch. “Participants using Strava have the chance to set their goals, track their training, and most importantly share their journey with others.”

Through the National Sponsor program, RunSignUp will continue to partner with leading technology providers and brands to bring brand value, incremental sponsor revenue, and promotional features to races on RunSignUp. Over time, RunSignUp will create other National Sponsor offerings that race directors can choose to partner with.
