Youth Events: Advantages and Challenges, with Gary Kutscher of the OC Marathon
Gary, is the race director for the 23,000 participant OC Marathon Running Festival that includes the Kids Run the OC program that reaches 15,000 children annually – with 9,000 participating it their “Final Mile”during the running festival weekend. At the symposium, he shared the successes and benefits of the program, as well as some of the unique safety and logistical challenges of working with kids.
Timer Business Session, with Matt Montgomery of 3 Way Racing
Matt is a Partner at 3 Way Racing, LLC, a Kentucky-based timing and management company for running, cycling, swimming, and multisport events. This was one of our “interactive” sessions, so it’s less flashy – but was reviewed as one of the most informative of the entire Symposium. Expect less powerpoint, and more discussion and input from the entire room of experienced timers!
Series Growth and Expansion, with Brad McCleary of Bodies Race Company
Brad shares the process that his company has used to successful transition from one event in 2011 to a franchise of races in communities throughout the country.
Advanced Fundraising, with Eric Cone and Natallie Young of RunSignup
Eric and Natallie break down the fundraising tools used by our most complex fundraising events, including fundraising page setup, customizing confirmation emails, and setting up donation refunds or fundraising minimums.
RaceDay Tools, Beyond the Basics, with Matt Avery of RunSignup
Matt introduces some of our more intimidating RaceDay tools and discusses their practical application. This includes Results/Notifications, RaceDay Registration, Corrals, and an introduction to RaceDay Scoring.
