SignMeUp is the latest race registration vendor to close down, joining a growing list we have covered before in our Registration Market Analysis. As is typical, these closings happen quickly, without thoughtful migration strategies put in place. For example, their website is still up and telling people to create their race registration with them.
This is a copy of what one customer received:
“Hello, In light of the lingering impact of Covid-19 and our new focus on our association management product, we will no longer be supporting SignMeUp.”SignMeUp Email to Customers
Another customer who has a race in 2 weeks was told she had to move off this week.
We are ready and able to help SignMeUp customers transition now. You can go to our website and create your race page and registration right now, or go to our website and click the “Schedule a Demo” button to schedule a time to talk with one of our customer service representatives – https://runsignup.com/. We helped hundreds of customers migrate off of RaceIt, Race Partner, and other registration companies, so we know how to export participant information and import it in bulk to help you transition smoothly.
RunSignup has been a constant in the race registration market as we begin our 12th year. We become the largest provider because of our technology differentiation. Our market share allows us to continue to invest more than others, and this means more and more customers. move to our platform. This creates a negative cycle for smaller vendors like SignMe Up who can not afford the technology investment.
