Run the Bluegrass is one of Kentucky’s premier races. They hold a Half Marathon, 7 miler and some fun races for the family and kids. Race Director Eric Marr has created a real community on their Facebook Page. They have over 3,700 “Likes” and really engage runners via Facebook. They regularly post on Facebook and get lots of activity and building of their brand.
This year, they partnered with RunSignUp and RaceFace to move to the next level. Participants can register right within Facebook – RaceFace helped the race set this up and it really looks beautiful as you can see in the screen shot. Note they also us the widget to let people register right on their own website.
RaceFace is also providing additional social features around their photo and results capabilities. For example in the screen shot below photos can be searched, tagged and commented on. The same is true of results.
You can learn more about RaceFace (and see some amazing demos) on their Facebook page. They are going to emerge as one of the true cutting edge tools for Race Directors who want to engage more with their running community.
