This fun, historic event offers a variety of course options for whatever distance you’re looking to complete, including a marathon, half marathon, 5K, and a 4-person marathon relay. This year, there’s also a new course that will take runners past the city’s five major parks and will include a portion of the Lake Fayetteville Trail.

As part of this year’s event, RaceJoy is added as a complimentary service. Those who download the app and carry their phone on race day will have access to live runner and walker tracking on an interactive map view. Friends and family, both at the race site and from the comfort of their homes, can track participants and know exactly where they are along the course.

Participants and spectators will also receive GPS-based progress alerts that include information like pace and estimated finish time. Participants have the option to post these alerts to their personal Facebook and Twitter walls in real-time.

Supporting fans can go hog wild sending participants cheer in RaceJoy at any time.  They can send funny prerecorded sound clips or brief motivational music clips or type in a custom message that is played instantly in audio format.
