As Bob blogged earlier this month, one of our Guiding Principles is continuous learning. Yesterday, we opened registration for our largest in-person educational opportunity, the RunSignup Symposium, but if you can’t make it to Philadelphia for the main event, we’re working to connect you to resources in as many arenas as possible.
There is no better education source than a successful event, so this April 12th, we are hosting a small Race Director Forum to coincide with the Ukrops Monument Avenue 10K, one of the Top 30 largest road races in the country. Session leaders will include the Sales Manager from the PGA Tour, Jeff Fitch (on sponsorship) and Big Run Media (on marketing). Additional discussions will center around technology and trends in the endurance industry. Following the formal agenda,we will adjourn for a networking happy hour and a visit to the Monument Avenue 10K Expo for a peek behind the curtains of one of Richmond’s premier productions.
An outline of the day:
Friday, April 12, 2019
1:00pm-5:00pm: lunch, learning, and discussion at the Quirk Hotel in Richmond, VA. We’ll examine marketing strategies, securing and managing sponsors, technology for events, and trends within the endurance market.
5:00pm-8:00pm: Networking social hour, a look inside the Ukrops Monument Avenue 10K, and time to explore the expo.
Running (or volunteering!) for the Ukrops Monument Avenue 10K the following day is encouraged. To keep the session engaging and interactive, spots are very limited, so don’t wait to register!
