Cover Pages is a major new feature for Race Websites. It is a great complement to controlling your own domain URL.
All race websites, nonprofit ticket event websites and donation websites can have a cover page that is your main website landing page. The normal header with call to action buttons and menu is still there, as is the Race Info page.
The example on the right shows how you can design slide shows, custom buttons, image backgrounds, videos and content on your website in any combination of formats and colors.
When you first enable your cover page on the dashboard, it will not have any content. You can click the “+” buttons to add content to the Header or start adding multiple content sections:
The header can contain one or more images, as well as a header text, description and an action button. Setup is intuitive, especially with our new image cropping tool:
The Button has multiple predefined actions, as well as the ability to add a generic URL. The actions include registration, donation, etc.
All the colors are matched from your race or event website theme colors to match the rest of your site perfectly.
The image can have overlay colors that will help your text and buttons pop on the cover page.
You can add multiple header images and these will appear as sliders, allowing you to have multiple images, headlines and buttons in your header.
You can add as many content sections as you want, and they can either be full width or half width (note in mobile responsive mode, the half width go to full width that are stacked elegantly).
Content is similar to the Header, with the ability to add a Title, Description, Buttons and background images.
Our first intelligent component (more to come like Top Fundraisers) is a Countdown Clock. This shows the power of integrating content with the underlying database driving your race or event for your one website you and your participants can use for everything.
You can create multiple action buttons for common functions in RunSignup, or links to your own custom actions.
Finally, you can add Video sections by simply putting in a YouTube link. We create a nice cover image and video activation button automatically based on data from YouTube.
Our goal has been to provide a free website capability for races and nonprofits. We see so many poorly designed websites, not optimized for mobile or SEO, that are separate and distinct from the services that actually provide the revenue generation and the data that participants and supporters care most about. With the recent custom domain and this new cover page capability, there is no longer a need to spend money on your own website.
