We have updated the Race Search on the RunSignUp site. The one visible change is adding the Event Type. The other change is by eliminating common words from the search like “run” and “race”. Note that we have stayed with our date based order as well as our “soundex” database function that looks for words that are similar. We decided against trying to do a Google style “best match” mechanism to ordering the results since runners can do this for themselves by narrowing the geographic search (radius from a zipcode or state) as well as date range. We also felt that far more people use RunningintheUSA.com or Google.
