Attached are detailed documentation and sample code in PHP and Node for connecting with RunSignUp via OAuth. This is useful for our partners who want to integrate tightly with our security system and give users bi-directional access to their information. RunSignUp OAuth Integration
RaceJoy is one of the coolest mobile apps for races. They do a bunch of different things, but the really unique feature we like is the GPS tracking capability. The basic idea is that a runner in a race with a mobile phone can share their position with others. I used this last year when […]
Appalachian Timing has put together a great set of video tutorials for their race directors to help them use RunSignUp. Remember, you can use any of the RunSignUp How To Videos and embed the YouTube right on your site as well.
Alan Jones has updated the Age Grade Tables, and they have been approved by USATF. RunSignUp has updated these calculations in our system, so that future calculations will use this. Old results uploads will use the old tables. If you are not familiar with age grading, you should really look into it – your older runners will […]
My good friend Sacha Labourey wrote this blog today – CloudBees Raises $23.5 M because Software is Eating the World. He makes the point clear: “Software is not a tool that “helps” businesses anymore. Software has become *the* business. Everything companies do, from interacting with prospects, customers, partners, handling their production, creating business differentiation is either […]
We used to put the race email contact info up on the Race Info page to make it easy for runners to contact a race with questions. However, we found that this had the potential for spam abuse. We have implemented a new Contact Form that will hopefully eliminate spam and make sure you have […]
When setting up Giveaway options, we are now auto-filling the most 4 common sizes. We find a number of first time race directors not quite sure what to put in, and most races have these sizes anyway. Of course, you can edit these, add other sizes and re-order them. Longer term, we plan on introducing […]
We are working with a large race who will be using our lottery and waitlist features. We’ve made some updates to clean this up for them. First, we used to have a “Registration Full” message that showed by default. The Registration Full message makes sense for races who sell out and still allow people to […]
Alan Jones made the following presentation at the ChronoTrack Conference in January, 2015. It reviews the new RunScore Results and other topics like enhancements to RunScore, additional integrations and most importantly the future of RunScore and the new advisory board. http://www.runscore.com/Downloads/RunScore2015.pdf
We’ve had a couple of race directors mistakenly transfer someone to an event in last year’s race. We’ve added a little check in case you are trying to do that to avoid mistakes.
We have a series Customer Case Studies, in which we take your stories and share your challenges and successes as a learning tool for other RunSignUp users. This Run Thru the Woods Case Study focuses on building a community event and making Race Day easy. View the PDF Version of the Run Thru the Woods Case Study Overview: In […]
UPDATE: Use Chrome for uploading large files from Windows. Internet Explorer has bugs. It appears that lists over 5,000 have a problem when uploading from Windows (Mac is fine with large lists). If you list is over 5,000, then you may have to cut it into multiple lists. We will see if we can find […]
You can now set prices for each of your add-on line items. This allows you to ask a single question and give participants to add any number of each item, and each item have different prices. This is easily configured in the Add-On Dashboard page.
The above screen shot says it all. Now you can easily switch between any of your races very quickly – and stay on the same dashboard page! Another nice feature to make life simpler for race series and race management companies.
As reported a few days ago, the iContact system has hit a major wall. Due to bugs on iContact’s side, you are no longer able to send email thru the iContact integration. If you want the details on the history of this, see the comments at the bottom of the page. This means that you […]
We have run into major issues with our old email provider, iContact, that we have had for several years. While we have been dissatisfied with them for a while, which is one of the reasons we built the new email system, this is a major outage caused by the size of our user base. If […]
For the new RunSignUp Email System – Until we have full Custom List upload, there is a simple work around. Create a Draft Race and import your list as participants. Then send your email from the draft race.
We are happy to release the new RunSignUp Email System! There are several significant improvements that will happen over the next couple of months. Here is the rough schedule: Phase 1 – Mid January – This will improve Basic Usability Save Draft EMails View Sent Emails Test Send To specific Address Additional Tags Phase 2 […]
The new RunSignUp EMail is tightly integrated with the rest of the RunSignUp Platform. The goal, as always, is to make things easier and more powerful. There will be multiple incremental improvements, and you will see us integrate email capabilities into other areas of the system over the coming months. In the initial release, you […]
To simplify Club Membership renewal, we have added a new “Renew” tab. This new tab enables members to search for themselves and then renew their membership. This is especially convenient for new clubs where members have been imported and the new members can claim their membership. Here is an example:

In addition to the big news that The Race Director has joined forces with RunSignUp, we are also excited to introduce a new offering for Race Director timers – Race Director Go, or RD Go. RD Go allows any Race Director (RD) timer to simply upload results to the web and provide finish notifications to runners and […]
We had a timer mistakenly upload a CSV of results that included the email addresses of participants yesterday. Not a good way to start the New Year! We’ve now added a check when uploading results and try to check if we see email addresses and give a warning. Hopefully this does not happen again!
