Holiday Racing Season is Here!

It’s time for Zombie Runs, Turkey Trots, and Reindeer Romps! Are you ready for RaceDay?

Thanksgiving is the largest running day in the United States, with 408 races and 423,306 Thanksgiving morning participants registered on RunSignup in 2018. With all that competition, it can be hard to stand out. Get ready for a seamless, professional RaceDay with a recording of our RaceDay Master Class Webinar for Turkey Trots*. RaceDay Ninja Crisp McDonald covers the best practices for Bib Assignment, RaceDay Registration, RaceDay CheckIn, RaceDay Photos, and RaceJoy. For more customization of your holiday race website, we also have new, themed, holiday banners available.

*These are generally good practices for any RaceDay, not just Turkey Trot’s…so check them out for your unthemed year-round races as well!

Sales Tax is Coming!

Our new Sales Tax System began limited Beta testing yesterday and full release will be rolling out state-by-state throughout the month. If you’re like most people, you would prefer not to spend your time trying to make sense of various state tax codes…luckily, RunSignup CFO & COO Kevin Harris has been working with tax experts to do that part for you. What do you need to know?

  • Some states are Marketplace States. In these states, RunSignup is required to calculate, collect, and remit sales tax on behalf of our races.
  • In non-Marketplace States, races will have the option to have RunSignup calculate sales tax so they can easily remit report and pay states as required.
  • Determining tax liability is a labyrinth, with rules dependent on the state (and sometimes the local jurisdiction), items being sold, location of the race, location of the participant, and an organization’s nonprofit status.
  • To catch up on what to expect, check out our latest Sales Tax Webinarreview the Q&A, read the Overview Blog, and view the Technical Implementation.
