Giving Thanks for Results and Notifications

Thanksgiving has become a big day for races. Just as we are seeing an increase in Thanksgiving Day Races, we believe runner demand for notifications is increasing.  Turkey day was also a big day for us to gauge how our new Results 3.0 system is working for customers.  A few quick facts: Total RunSignUp Registration for Thanksgiving Day: 184 […]

Lessons learned from GoPro Video Results

This Thanksgiving Ron Synup took his GoPro to the Lansing Turkey Trot and filmed the finish line. This is using RunSignUp’s Video Results capability. The top lessons learned: Do not film at super high resolutions and cut down the time that you film. The longer the video and the higher the resolution, the more time […]

Custom Results API – Notifications

We are expanding the Custom Results API to include a mechanism for providing notifications. The concept is that a list of participants can be uploaded to RunSignUp a week or two before a race and participants and their friends and families can then sign up for notifications. When race day comes, the timer will be […]

Giveaway Syncing with The Race Director Software

The Race Director is software many timers use for scoring and timing races. One of the challenges is syncing information from RunSignUp to The Race Director where there are incompatible fields and data. Timers will usually keep very short codes for Giveaways rather than the long descriptions that RunSignUp allows. The Race Director sync utility […]

RunSignUp Results Pricing

With the release of RunSignUp Results 3.0, we will be introducing new pricing mechanisms. Races who use RunSignUp for registration will still get free results and notifications. We have expanded the Custom Results API and the user interface for displaying custom results. The Custom Results API allows an application to upload results and do custom formatting and upload more generic data. Here is an example used to upload Age Group Results and other Awards from RunScore. There are two key upgrades: Setting Data […]

Video Results – Runners like them!

In the first weekend after releasing video results, we had at least 4 races use this new feature!  For example and example and example.  And we got some rave reports: “We added video to two of our results pages from the weekend: super easy to set up on the RSU end (YouTube is another story), and a […]

Your Favorite Features

We take pride in our our continual feature development, but it is still really overwhelming to hear our customers talk about how features have changed their workload and driven their businesses. The most amazing thing?  Most of these customers also told us that they know they are only using a small percentage of the available features.  Just […]

Clever Timers use of Finisher Certificates

Jeff Huber of Huber Timing is also a developer.  He had developed a Results system that fit his needs and his other software, but he really liked the Finisher Certificates we came up with.  So he uploaded his Results to RunSignUp and then generated the Finisher Certificates by iterating thru each results with a program […]

They are an important part of the RunSignUp Go strategy to help bring race day together since they provide a higher level of capabilities than the RunSignUp Results and Notifications system. Xact is well known as the results system behind large […]

Finisher Certificates

RunSignUp Results now supports automatic generation of Finisher Certificates. We use a default certificate that automatically fills in the runner’s name, Race Name, Finish Time, Place, and the logo for the race that was uploaded.  An example is on the right. There is no work for the race director to do other than assure the […]

Geek Time – Open API and uploading Divisions and Awards winners
